The Chicago Historical Society Museum New Exhibitions Master Plan
1998 Chicago, Illinois

Working collaboratively with the Society's staff, architects, visitor studies consultants, and community advisors, a project team led by Andrew Merriell developed a comprehensive plan for a complely new suite of permanent exhibitions on Chicago history.

The exhibitions will speak with the voices, energy, and spirit of the people who shaped the city. Seeing themselves reflected in the story of Chicago, visitors will gain a more sophisticated and humane understanding of Chicago's history.

Immersion environments and object theaters provide powerful emotional connections to past events. A multimedia streetscape explores the ever-changing character of Chicago's diverse neighborhoods.

Andrew Merriell was the Principal in Charge of this institution's eighteen million dollar master plan while in the employ of Hilferty & Associates.
