American West Heritage Center
So So Goi Interpretive Center Master Plan

The purpose of this center is to educate, entertain, and enlighten visitors to the American West Heritage Center about the lifeways, history, and culture of the people of the Bear River Basin from the point of view of the Northwest Band of the Shoshone Nation--descendants of the survivors of the Bear River Massacre, the most devastating Indian massacre west of the Mississippi, yet one of the least well known.

The Center will be the place where the Northwest Band will keep its heritage safe, preserving its history and culture for future generations.

Visitors will experience Shoshone lifeways and history as an evolving dream. As visitors move from gallery to gallery, multimedia experiences will take them on an emotional journey; stunning, unexpected, and full of surprises.

Andrew Merriell was the Principal in Charge and Project Designer of this institution's thirty million dollar master plan while in the employ of Hilferty & Associates.
